Florida Vacation

June 9, 2011

This year it was off to sunny Orlando

It was Up UP and Away (from school) for Christopher’s first plane ride
Followed by many more thrilling rides and fun shows as we hit the Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, Island of Adventures, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

My sister Maureen joined us from Boston

and we got to stay at a nice Resort thanks to our friends Lynn and Tom.
We made many new friends.

Some were nice, some were serious, some were funny

And Some were ….really…….REALLY. . . . . . H U N G R Y

And then it was time to head Back to the Future

2011 CAA Tournament

March 8, 2011

2011 CAA Tournament

Once again I made the trip to Richmond, with my friend Jim, in hopes of a JMU miracle. They finished the season in 6th, proving once again, that they can beat or be defeated by any team on any given day. This year they lost to the 11th placed, William and Mary, in the first round.

James Madison

Then came time for my backup plan, Jim’s team. Go GMU. Mason finished 1st with an outstanding season, but lost in the 3rd round of the tournament to VCU.

George Mason

To add to the disappointment, was that even though GMU was out played, VCU should have been eliminated the round before because the refs controlled the entire game for the home town team and that they should have been eliminated by Drexel.

The upside was we hit some great pubs and restaurants and ran into an old college buddy (Dave) who went to VCU !

As a final note the CAA needs to move the tournament out of Richmond (the last 21 yrs). Although its a good place to have it, the majority of the fans are from Richmond and the refs seems to remind us of that each year.

Final Note: VCU lost to ODU in the Final so GMU and ODU will make the big Dance. VCU might make it but not likely.
